SunPS® Superfood for bright minds

Memory, mood, learning ability, stress resistance and the ability to focus and concentrate depend on a vital molecule that makes up to 15% of the phospholipids in the human cerebral cortex:

Phosphatidylserine

… has long been known to be associated with cognitive functions. As a component of cell membranes, it helps maintain memory, attention and concentration.

In a rapidly ageing world population, age-related cognitive decline such as Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia have manifested themselves as a critical health problem, not only in Western countries.

As early as the 1980s, phosphatidylserine was developed as an effective drug to prevent or slow down the age-related loss of cognitive function. At that time, it was still obtained from bovine brain. In times of BSE, however, this source had to be abandoned. Plant sources of PS, such as soy, sunflower, safflower or marine sources, e.g. krill, are now used as substitutes.

SunPS®, developed and manufactured by our partner company ECA Healthcare, Inc. is a highly concentrated and pure form of phosphatidylserine.

It is produced by a proprietary enzymatic technology that results in an excellent pure, soy-free product in various concentrations.

Available in powder and oil-based liquid forms, from 20% to 70% PS.

SunPS ® is

A recent systematic review and meta-analysis (the gold standard for scientific publications), conducted by a team of researchers from Korea’s Hanyang University, concluded that the nutrient phosphatidylserine “appears to improve age-related cognitive decline – particularly memory – without side effects”

The same researchers noted in their paper that moderate supplementation of 200 mg PS daily for two months, “improved auditory short-term memory and attention in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), citing an earlier study from Japan.
